Anonymous asked: If you wouldn't mind me asking, where are you from? I can't be so happy to see that there are people of other ethnicities who share the same love for my country. inshaAllah I pray you find the chance to take a trip to Afghanistan, a safe one nonetheless. It truly is an amazing experience, a very humbling one too. Afghans are far from perfect, so don't get your hopes up, you'll see some really upsetting things. But for the most part, the spirit and love they have is most enthralling. Pc be 2 u
I don’t mind at all but I’m literally so mixed that I can’t even tell myself what I am, let alone tell anyone else. Let’s just say I’m an ethnically diverse human-being ;)
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, God Willing I will one day get there. I guess if I ever do, I guess it will be a learning experience. In fact I’m sure that it will be. Maybe I’m over-optimistic, but I have too much faith in humanity and I believe that under it all, we’re not that different. I realise that social norms are different in Afghanistan and that there are different cultures there that I’m not used to and that there is war and poverty there which probably heightens these differences but no matter what, everyone who has been there cannot speak highly enough about the Afghan people; this really says something about them. I truly believe deep in my heart there’s so much more to Afghanistan than war and poverty and that is why I started this blog, because I wanted everyone who chanced upon it to believe that deep down too. Just the faces of the people of Afghanistan conveys hope that there are bright days ahead for that country. I’m a dreamer and I hope that I can see Afghanistan even with its faults and get to know the people in these pictures. Probably sounds like a naive dream to some but for so many years I’ve admired this country and her people, if only I could go there…
Thanks again for your thoughts & for visiting and don’t be a stranger :)
Peace and Light to you…
